Well, it's not exactly 90 in NY, but we're going down to Florida in a week and half to meet up with the fam and I'm sure it will be rather balmy down there. I can't wait to see Benjamin in his swimming trunks and matching hat. The fat rolls will be hanging out, but somehow he'll manage to pull it off and look adorable (oh to be a baby again).

Although I must admit that I do love spring, especially for running. A sunny 65 degrees is about as perfect as it gets for a run. Speaking of which, I had my first post-pregnancy race last Sunday. A bit cooler than I would have liked that morning (in the low thirties), but it went fairly well. I'm not quite as fast as I was this time last year -- it was a hilly 10K which I did in 47 minutes last year and 50:40 this year, sigh -- but I suppose it wasn't bad considering that whole pregnancy thing, which really cramped my style for a bit. Anyway, here's a picture of Edwin and Benjamin getting ready to cheer me on and then me steps away from the finish (and very relieved to be in sight of the finish line as those Central Park hills can get to you!)

I'm glad to hear that the Marines have turned you into a voracious reader, Scott. Who would have thunk? You've inspired me to take a trip to The Strand (my favorite discount bookstore in NY) later today or tomorrow to buy a bunch of books for you. I have some good ideas, but please let me know if you have any specific requests.

And what about the pre-Easter Adventure post that you mentioned on the phone? If you have any time, we'd love to hear about it or any other adventures -- besides the vicarious ones you've been experiencing in that lovely world of literature (although pray tell what books you've lately devoured.)

ttfn,
Elizabeth
