Yum Yum

Looks like Benjamin is eating well! Chubby little babies are so cute. And me? I'm eating great here. Its a pretty good deal, I could get used to what they offer us in services. At no cost to me, but plenty to you taxed folk, I can get my laundry done, and neatly folded, back in my hands in a day. I have computers to use, and phones set up, although I have to pay for the phone calls, a hefty 4 cents a minute! Most of the services are run by some Indian company, including the chow hall.

Somehow, these guys manage to cook good American food a great deal better than most places do, and a million times better then any Marine Corp chowhall. I can get an omelette made for breakfast, or just grab some ham, bacon and scamblred eggs. Pancakes? Usually have a couple differant kinds, with waffles too. Plenty of fresh fruit, and juice. Don't forget the cereal, if I'm not stuffed already. Honestly though, I don't eat breakfast much, since I try and sleep in past it!

Lunch and dinner work about the same. A main line with rolls, veggies, and a couple differant choices of a main dish: fish, chicken, beef, or something thats not quite as good as American beef. Can't win them all. Then there is a grill, which could be gyros, shrimp stir fry, cooked as you wait, phillie cheese steak, or grilled cheese. Finally they have a fast food type section, with hamburgers, fries, chicken fingers, etc.

And of course there is the desert bar during lunch and dinner. I can grab some Baskin Robbins ice cream, a huge slice of cheesecake, differant pies and cakes, or some delicious cookies. The choices are staggering! And to seal the deal, we have what is called mid-rats. Prolly comes from a shortening of midnight rations, or so I guess. A fourth meal! Now I've only gone to it once, but the option is there when I miss a meal from being out on a mission, or if I just want to juice up my beautiful love handles!

I hope you all have a good picture of my sandy beautiful vacation. I left out all the bad parts, possibly because there aren't any, and possibly because they aren't too interesting yet. But really, who is jealous of me now?

I sent you an email Liz, did you not get it? whatever email address you sent your email with, I replied to, which is a differant one than in my address book. Do they both work?

Hope everyone is doing well, and I will call again soon mom, just been busy lately, even Katy get thoroughly neglected.

Scotty

Picture Time

Of course, I would be remiss if I didn't post some pictures of Benjamin. That's what mommies do.

I can't wait to hear from you Scott. I'm thinking of some books to send you. Any suggestions?

Lonely Planet Guide: Iraq

Ooh, I have questions: Being the epicurean that I am, I'm curious about the food. Standard military? Or do they throw in any Persian twists? Also, being the armchair traveler that I am this year (no exotic destinations for a little while, although we are going to Chicago for Easter -- yay --and possibly Florida and Hilton Head in the next several months. This baby is fast becoming a seasoned traveler!) any details on weather and scenery would be much appreciated. We love you! Benjamin says ah-goo!
